Many people with high blood pressure do not know they have it. Checking is quick and painless.

Sit and relax
We ask you to rest for a few minutes so we get an accurate reading.
Quick reading
A cuff on your upper arm measures your blood pressure.
BMI check
We can also check your weight and BMI.
Clear advice
We explain your results and whether you should see your GP.
Before your appointment
- Avoid caffeine and exercise for 30 minutes before
- Wear a top with loose sleeves
- Bring your medicines list if you take any
Afterwards
- Keep a note of your reading
- Follow any advice to see your GP
- Come back for regular checks

Is the check really free?

Yes. The blood pressure and BMI check is free.

How long does it take?

Usually about 10 minutes, including a few minutes of rest before the reading.

What is a normal reading?

Usually below 140/90 when measured in a pharmacy or GP practice. We explain your result.

What if my reading is high?

We advise on next steps, which may include seeing your GP or a 24-hour monitor.

Do I need to book?

Booking means we can see you at a time that suits you.
